International exchange with young South African musicians visiting Soest: school visits, workshops, concerts, framed by a cultural program and a project week with students of the cities\u2019 music school.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The motto \u201cRoots of music \u2013 Sounds of sustainability\u201d brought together musicWays Germany e.V. with the institute \u201cArbeit und Leben NRW\u201d and the local music school \u201cMusikschule Soest. Together they have organized a youth exchange between the cities of Soest and Cape Town. The goal of the project is the intercultural dialogue through education and music as well as getting to know the cultural heritage of both countries \u2013 based on the United Nations\u2019 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4.7).<\/p>

The Delegation from Cape Town visited local schools in town: As an ambassador of their country, the young South Africans spoke about their educational past and their personal experiences with racism and discrimination, even after 25 years of the end of Apartheid in South Africa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
